A record-breaking 7000+ votes have been cast for this year's Youth Elections.

The Youth Council and Youth Parliament give young people the opportunity to experience the excitement of elections and local democracy in a non-political way. 

We are delighted to have three candidates representing students at Jesmond Park Academy - Samer & Sarah in Year 8 and Jeevan in Year 9.

The benefits of Youth Elections include:

  • becoming an active citizen by having your voice heard and campaigning on issues that matter
  • learning about the importance of democracy and voting
  • a positive contribution to add to a CV or university application
  • helping to increase confidence and develop important skills, like public speaking

How to Vote:

  • If you’re aged 11-17 and live or study in Newcastle, please remember to vote.
  • Voting takes place tomorrow Thursday the 14th March.
  • WE HAVE A VOTING STATION AT OUR SCHOOL ON THURSDAY – YOU WILL BE ABLE TO VOTE AT BREAK & LUNCHTIMES – WE WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW THIS WILL WORK!
  • You can see the candidate manifestos and vote at the following open access venues:

- Newcastle College (between 8.30am and 4.30pm)

- Haven at Kenton (between 3pm and 5.30 pm)

- Walker Activity Dome (between 3pm and 7 pm)

- Newcastle Trampoline park (between 3pm and 7pm )

  • Remember to only vote once.
  • To vote:

- Put a cross in one box on the voting slip.

- If you mark more than one box your vote will not count.
