Students from JPA attended the Youth Climate Summit at the Discovery Museum yesterday. They took part in the activities with enthusiasm and behaved beautifully. The summit was full of great opportunities to listen to speakers and talk to businesses who are all making such a fantastic positive effort to combat climate change.
JPA is extremely proud of Jeevan in Year 9, as part of the youth parliament he has been involved in organising the day’s events. He also made a speech outlining the importance of climate change activism. He spoke so confidently and with passion. He was also involved in a Q & A alongside a cabinet minister, again where he answered questions about the future of our city with a great deal of maturity.
Doaa also in Year 9 attended the summit with the Walker Youth Team as part of a dance organisation. They performed a dance piece for the summit that was wonderful and she had clearly worked very hard to produce this.
Our Key Stage 3 students who have worked very hard on the “Hope for Climate Change” posters have managed to win £1000 for our school! The money is to help us make our school more sustainable and support our action against climate change.
