Friday 19th of July is our now traditional Day of Culture
We encourage students to dress in a way that is reflective of their culture to celebrate the diversity that exists within our school. For students that do not have any type of traditional dress we ask that they dress smartly out of respect for those that are doing so.
At break time we would encourage students to bring foods that are reflective of their culture to share with their friends and peers at morning break time, we will extend break time to allow this to happen.
Students in year 7-9 will be in lessons periods 1-3 and with form tutors lesson 4 before being dismissed at 12.15. Students in Y10 will be in a sports activity lessons 1-2, normal lesson 3 and with their form tutors lesson 4 before being dismissed at 12.15. This means that there will not be a lunch service on the 19th of July. Students in receipt of free school meals will have the money allocated to their account and can purchase more substantial items during their break time.
This is always a lovely way to end the term for all of our staff and students, there is absolutely no obligation to take part in the cultural activities, any students that do not wish to be involved should attend school in their normal uniform.
