We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding success of one of our exceptional Year 11 students, Layla. Layla's dedication and hard work in studying Mandarin have paid off in a remarkable way. She has recently been awarded a full scholarship to study A-level courses, including A-level Chinese, at the prestigious Wycombe Abbey International School in Changzhou, China.

Layla's journey to mastering Mandarin has been nothing short of inspiring. Her passion for the language, combined with her relentless pursuit of excellence, has set her apart as a standout student. Layla's success is also a result of her extraordinary dedication to her studies. She attended all HSK 3 lessons (or HSK club)—the only Chinese proficiency test certified by the Chinese government—during lunch breaks and period 7s in Y10 alongside Year 12 students. Her willingness to go the extra mile and learn alongside older peers speaks volumes about her commitment and drive.
This scholarship is particularly notable because only 10 students across the entire UK were awarded the full scholarship this year. The highly competitive nature of this scholarship makes Layla's achievement even more impressive. The selection process, which included rigorous interviews, highlights her exceptional abilities and potential.
