On Thursday 19th January, four teams of JPA athletes represented Newcastle at the Tyne and Wear School Games Sports Hall Athletics Championships, having qualified as either winners or runners up in their age and gender category at the Newcastle City competition. The competition was held at the Temple Park leisure center in South Shields and saw our students take part in sprint, middle and long distance running events, team relays, indoor shot and a variety of jumping disciplines. In a very competitive field, all our students performed fantastically well, particularly in the track events. Full results are yet to be published, but we do know that our Year 7 girls and Year 8 boys teams came away from the competition with bronze medals, congratulations! All of our students were a credit to the school; we couldn't be prouder!
