On Sunday 11th September, and after many months of training, some of our amazing Jesmond Park Academy staff ran the 41st Great North Run! The world-famous half marathon (13.1 miles) returned to its traditional route of Newcastle to South Shields, and while it was a more subdued affair in some ways because of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, it was still a brilliant event. The sun shone brightly which made for tough running conditions, but spectators giving out ice pops and orange slices en route helped spur the runners on towards the final stretch along the South Shields seafront. We're so proud of our friends and colleagues who, between them, have raised over £12,000 for a number of extremely worthy charities. Well done everyone!
