North East - Under 19 tickets
With a Stagecoach Under 19 ID card, you can buy discounted bus tickets for all Stagecoach buses in Newcastle, South Shields, Sunderland, Teesside and Hartlepool.
Once you have your card you can present it to your driver each time you buy or use an Under 19 ticket on board.
What do I need?
All customers aged between 5 and 18 years old must provide proof that they are Under 19.
ID must be presented at the point of use and purchase, or when presenting an existing ticket on board.
Valid forms of ID include: provisional driving licence, full driving licence, student ID (stating DOB, from school/college), PASS card or with one of the following bus operator ID cards:

Get your FREE Stagecoach Under 19 ID card
The new Under 19 ID card is FREE each year and are valid from now until 31st August 2022 or your 19th birthday, whichever comes first.
Simply post it to the following address:
Under 19 ID Card, Stagecoach, The Wheatsheaf Offices, Sunderland SR5 1AQ.
You should receive your card within a week. However, our ID card makers can become very busy at the start of the new academic year, so please allow 2 weeks in August and September.
Please note: you can no longer obtain a card in person at The Wheatsheaf Offices.
If you lose your Under 19 ID card
A replacement for lost or stolen cards costs £3.00. To replace an Under 19 ID card, complete the Under 19 application form again and send this to us with a passport-sized photograph, then make a debit or credit card payment over the phone. Simply submit your replacement application and we will contact you directly to arrange payment.
Where you can travel with Under 19 tickets
Under 19 tickets allow you to travel anywhere on Stagecoach North East buses in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and the Tees Valley.
That includes Newcastle, South Shields, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Stockton and Middlesbrough... plus into Ponteland and Darras Hall on routes X77, X78 and X79.
How much it will cost?
Prices are valid from 17 April 2022.
*Please note: 28 day Under 19 tickets will be delivered on a Stagecoach Smartcard. Don't worry, all you need to do is present your new Smartcard to the ticket machine when you board the bus, alongside your ID card, and our friendly driver will do the rest!
