On Thursday 17th of March the Year 7 Football team played in the League finals night at Benfield school.
In the semi-final they beat Gosforth East Middle School 1-0. They then faced hosts, Benfield in the final. Having lost to them earlier in the season, the team showed great fighting spirit and could have won the game in normal time, only a brilliant penalty save and then an equally good follow up save kept the score at 0-0.
The game went to penalties; our keeper saved all three of the Benfield penalties. Our players scored all three of ours and brought the trophy back to NE7!
Every single member of the team played their part, their commitment and work effort was nothing short of fantastic. Working to near exhaustion at the end, they never gave up!
