This week brave Year 12 and Year 13 students took part in a Q&A and dissection event here at JPA.
The students worked with a team of specialists from Post-Mortem Live and undertook the following tasks:
- Discussed different careers within the healthcare industry.
- Prepared a patient for surgery and deliberated on various treatment options.
- Cut open a selection of cadavers and observed real internal organs in situ (of swine origin).
- Dissected the organs and worked together to try and determine the cause of death.
Due to the hard work of the students, I am pleased to report that the patient made a full recovery.
