Transition Team

Mr P Anderson – Deputy Principal

Paul AndersonMr Anderson has been at the school for 24 years, and spent 16 years as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. He has undertaken a variety of roles across the school during that time, including a long period of time as Head of Sixth Form. Currently in school, Mr Anderson oversees the transition team, ensures the smooth day to day operation of the school and oversees the staff in school.

Outside of school Mr Anderson is a keen supporter of Newcastle United, having a season ticket with his son and daughter. He enjoys cycling to try to keep fit and healthy.

Ms C Walker - Director of Key Stage 3

Clare WalkerMs Walker joined Jesmond Park Academy in September 2014 having worked in two previous schools, one in Northumberland where she was a faculty leader for science and one in Newcastle where she was a member of the senior leadership team.  In school Ms Walker works with the Year Teams to ensure that the year groups in the lower school run smoothly.

Outside of school Ms Walker is a keen triathlete and enjoys competing around the UK as well as reading and walking her dog. 

Mr J Smith - Head of Year 7

James SmithMr Smith has been teaching science, in a variety of schools across Newcastle and Gateshead, for the last 20 years. As a result he has gained a vast amount of experience in dealing with young people. For the past few years he has been working alongside colleagues at Jesmond Park Academy on the Primary to Secondary transition process.  

The majority of his time outside of school is spent with his 3 children. In any spare time, Mr Smith, is a keen triathlete and has completed several events around the country including an ironman. 

Mrs M Gill – Year 7 Manager

Mo GillMrs Gill has worked at Jesmond Park Academy for over 12 years.  She started as Cover Supervisor then worked as Senior Cover Supervisor before becoming a Year Manager.  Mrs Gill has worked with all Year Groups, providing pastoral support, liaising with parents and carers and where necessary liaising with external agencies.  The last few years she has worked with Year 7.  Working with Year 7 has enabled her to focus on Year 6-7 transition, working closely with primary schools to ensure transition to secondary school is supportive and successful
