JPA U16s basketball team have won the Tyne and Wear Basketball finals. The school were representing Newcastle against schools from Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland. In the group stages they had wins against, Grace College, Whitley Bay High School, Mortimer and St Aiden’s. This qualified them for the Semi-final where they defeated St Josephs leaving them to play St Aiden’s once again in the Final.
The final proved to be a dominant performance where the team didn’t drop a game throughout the tournament and ended up with an aggregate score of 99-35.
